SuperFly Comic Creations
June 17-21/ 1pm-4pm
Grades 3rd through 8th
Instructor: Russell Marcontell
In this project oriented course students will be guided through the various stages of creating a four-page comic, including: script writing, character design, thumb nailing, penciling, inking, page structure, panel composition, and storytelling. There will be a focus on creating believable environments in your artwork, through detailed instruction on perspective and props as well as an introduction to basic perspective and comic book anatomy.
We will also utilize these same techniques in creating a superhero “self-portrait”, developing 2D stop motion animation “puppets”, designing backgrounds and the filming of a short stop motion animated film using the student’s own uniquely original characters.
